	Teaching - Teaching and Practice of Dechen Monlam Dechen Monlam was composed by Karma Chakme, the 17th century great mahasiddha. Karma Chakme Rinpoche, who lived at the time of the Tenth Karmapa, was one of the most highly realized and accomplished individuals in scholarship and meditation of the time. In Namthar: The spiritual Biography of Karma Chakme Rinpoche, he told of his close karmic affiliation with the great terton Mingyur Dorje, "Mingyur Dorje and I have had a very close relationship as teacher and student over hundreds of past rebirths." According to Mingyur Dorje, Karma Chakme is an emanation of Chenrezik, non-differentiated from Karmapa Himself. During his time, Karma Chakme was not only the principle scribe and teacher of the Namcho terma revealed by Mingyur Dorje, he was also the author of many quintessential teachings from Palyul Nyingma, such as, Buddhahood in the palm of the Hand and The union of Mahamudra and Atiyoga. 	Teaching - Longchen Nyingtik Kusali Chod Practice In order to honor the tradition that had been established and implemented in Sethar Five-Science Buddhist Institute by HH Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche, Lama Drimed decides to combine the practice of Kusali Chod and fire puja, and facilitate them into the schedule of our Dechen Rang Buddhism Center as one of our regular practices. Another reason of combining both Chod and fire offering practices being the immeasurable benefits brought about by the act of ultimate Bodhicitta and skillful means – the profound realization and accomplishment in generosity (of the six paramitas), thus accumulating inconceivable merits. Kusali Chod is a concise version of Chod, which has been widely practiced in Longchen Nyingtik tradtion. The Avalokiteshvara Fire Puja was composed by the All-Knowing Mipham Rinpoche out of his fervent aspiration to liberate all sentient beings. He was inspired by a dream and immediately wrote down the insightful wisdom from the Sugatas and Bodhisattvas who had shown us the way to rid ourselves of karmic and demonic obstructions, and ultimately lead us towards realization. Especially at a time like this, when global epidemics such as AIDS, SARS, or the most recent Bird Flu are increasingly threatening our well-being, this practice is precisely the antidote to our agony. 	Teaching - Amitabha Recitation Practice Lama Drimed will lead us in the practice of Amitabha recitation. His Holiness Jigme Phongtsok Rinpoche had fervently aspired to spread this special practice for those who have unshakable faith in Dharma, and promised to show up in person during the intermediate state of bardo after death to guide the deceased practitioner on the path towards the pure realm. It is taught that whoever accomplishes 1,000,000 times of Amitabha recitation is guaranteed to reach the goal of taking rebirth in the pure realm. This is a skillful mean for practitioners who are preoccupied with worldly matters and have very limited time for practice. It is also extremely beneficial to the deceased families, friends, beloved pets or animals if one can recite for them at the time of their passing. 	Teaching - Ngagchung Zinde A Guide to the Words of My Perfect Teacher Khenpo Ngagchung (1879-1941), a.k.a. Khenpo Ngawang Pelzang, was a khenpo at Katok and a very important reviver of the scholastic lineage of expounding the Dzogchen scriptures. He was recognized as the incarnation of both Vimalamitra and Longchenpa. Instructed by the two renowned Nyingma masters -- Patrul Rinpoche and Mipham Rinpoche, he was considered the lineage-holder of the latter one. Ngagchen Zinde was a note taken by Khenpo Ngagchung upon receiving the teaching of “Words of My Perfect Teacher” (Kunsang Lamei Shelong) from Patrul Rinpoche. It offers chapter- by-chapter commentary on this essential spiritual instruction, thereby serving as the most reliable sourcebook to followers from all schools of Tibetan Buddhism. 	Teaching - Kshitigarbha Bodhisattva Beseeching Blessing and Liberation Ceremony February 17 18, 2007 is Chinese and Tibetan New Year. To celebrate new year, the Venerable Lama Drimed Lodro will lead us in the practice of Kshitigarbha (Earth Treasure) Bodhisattva Beseeching Blessing and Liberation Ceremony. The practice includes “The King of Noble Prayers Aspiring to the Deeds of the Excellent”. “Prayer to the Eight Noble Auspicious One”, “The Great Cloud of Prayers and Blessings that subdue the entire animate and inanimate worlds”, mantra recitation of Amitabha, Avalokiteshvara, Kshitigarbha, and Kshitigarbha Ten Wheel Vajra Essence. We will also perform Wealth-Propitiating rituals, liberation rituals for the deceased, and prayers to gurus for their long life and well-being. By pacifying obstructions through the practice, may good fortune, happiness and prosperity be fully endowed, beings in the three lower realms be emptied. By dedicating the merits, may all motherly sentient beings be reborn in the Amitabha pureland. All are welcome to participate in this auspicious event for the sake of bringing tremendous benefit to beings in the world.
