Teaching - Vines of Heart Advice by H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche (Part I)Vines of Heart Advice was composed by H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche for the purpose of summarizing essential instructions spanning across all nine yanas of Buddhism teachings under Nyingma Tradition in the form of pith instructions. It is considered one of the most vital and prominent literature amongst H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche’s ocean-like collection of work. His Holiness was not only an unsurpassable realized master, he was also known as the legendary Terton (treasure revealer) of Nyingma school. He was born to a nomadic family in Tibet in 1933. In 1937, he was unerringly recognized by Terton Wangshuk and the Great Siddha Donto Lagong as the reincarnation of Jetsun Lerab Lingpa (1856~1926) – Teacher of the 13th Dalai Lama as well as one of the 25 major disciples of Guru Padmasambhava.Time : Sep 12, Sunday, 2~5pm Dechen Rang Dharma Center

Teaching - "Vajrasattva – The Wish-fulfilling Jewel Sadhana” practiceOn August 22, 2010 Venerable Lama Drimed will lead the practice of “Vajrasattva – The Wish- fulfilling Jewel Sadhana” – a terma revealed by His Holiness Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche. A prophesy made by Samantabhadra was recorded in a Dzogchen Tantra which stated that it is now the era when the supreme Vajrasattva will conduct his enlightened deeds to benefit beings in the degenerate time. The Arya Atisha also once said, “Out of all the practices in the vehicles of Hinayana, Mahayana, and Mantrayana, the practice of confessing one’s karmic obscurations is considered the most crucial. Amongst the eighty four thousands categories of Dharma teachings, Vajrasattva practice is considered with the greatest blessings as the method for purifying one’s wrongdoings”. H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche revealed this precious terma of Vajrasattva Sadhana in Ching-Hai in 1994, and it has since then become the regular practice held in every April and scheduled as one of the four annual practices held in Sertha Larong Five-Science Academy. It is with great fortune that we encounter the practice of Vajrasattva. This could not have happened had we not accumulated boundless amounts of supreme merits. It was due to H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche’s aspiration that one could connect with the merits accumulated from the joint practice of over 10,000 sangha in the Academy. There will be a video instruction on how to clearly visualize the imagery of this sadhana. Time : August 22, Sunday, 2~5pm Dechen Rang Dharma Center

Teaching - Kurukulle Sadhana Practice InstructionVen. Lama Drimed will explain the practice of Kurukulle Sadhana. Dechen Rang Dharma Center makes every effort to reflect the lineage tradition of Larong Five-Science Monastery founded by H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche. One of the most important traditions at the monastery is the four major annual practices. The first occurrence of the four is the practice of the enlightened activity of Magnetizing. Dakini Kurukulle is the main deity of the magnetizing practice hence the sadhana will be adopted here as the principle text for DRDC’s annual practice. Kurukulle sadhana is a terma revealed by H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche for the immense benefits for the practitioners and all the lineage gurus. Practicing Kurukulle sadhana will perfect the enlightened activities aspired and conducted by the lineage gurus and disciples’ wish for all lineage gurus to remain with longevity. Practitioners will reach the spontaneous wish-fulfilling state of being, and bring forth happiness in all sentient beings.Time : July 11 Sunday, 2~5pm Dechen Rang Dharma Center

“Karma and Habitual Inclination” Teaching by Ven. Lama Drimed LodroVen. Lama Drimed Lodro will explain in detail the importance of recognizing one’s habitual inclination and how it impacts our current and future lives. Not knowing one’s habitual inclination and being oblivious to the consequences it brings about clouds us from seeing the truth, thereby remaining obscured on the stages of the path. It is extremely crucial, especially for practitioners, to cultivate self-awareness in recognizing one’s habitual inclination, and subsequently transform our behavioral patterns and their associated karma deeply entrenched within our mind stream.Time : June 27 Sunday, 2~5pm Dechen Rang Dharma Center |

Teaching - Avalokiteshvara Fire Puja and Longchen Nyingtik Kusali Chod Instruction and PracticeThere have been calamities around the world since the beginning of the year. Venerable Lama Drimed would like to gather our efforts through the practice of Fire Puja and Kusali Chod and make dedication to the victims of these adversaries. The word kusali means “beggar”. Hermits and renunciates who lack any other possessions make offerings of their own bodies. We cherish our bodies more than any of our other belongings, so the benefits of making them into an offering are also greater. By abandoning all thoughts of self-grasping and attachment to this body held so dear, the demonic forces of seduction through desire (the “Mara of the Son of the Gods”), the demonic force of death (the 'Mara of the Lord of Death'), the demonic forces of conflicting emotions (the 'Mara of Disturbing Emotions'), and the demonic forces of the aggregates of ego (the 'Mara of the Skandhas') are thereby destroyed. Through the merit and virtue of this, all illnesses that plague the body, all conflicting emotions that disturb the mind, and all destructive influences and obstacles are pacified into all-pervading space. Harmful circumstances that conflict with the Dharma, all selfish clinging to wealth and possessions, and thoughts of self-grasping are exploded Time : Mar 28 Sunday, 2~5pm Dechen Rang Dharma Center |

Teaching - Avalokiteshvara Fire PujaThis sadhana was written by Jetsun Mipham Rinpoche in the cave of Gyadod Wangpuk inspired by a dream and the aspiration to benefit all sentient beings. In the footnote of this text, he stated, “This is a particularly powerful means for practicing the perfection of generosity, and for removal of obstacles. Anyone and everyone should practice this sadhana. Especially, during the degenerate times, when sentient beings’ greed and desire are overflowing; when hungry ghosts and evil spirits are multiplying, and when they are attacking humans and livestock, and stripping one’s possessions and enjoyments; when deceased spirits are drifting around propelled solely by their desire for food and wealth; when plague and epidemics are overcasting and contagion to the livestock; when we are haunted by nightmares; when we are endangered by wild animals like wolves and so forth; whenever there is a demonic attack or suspicion of demonic influence, etc., if we can practice this fire puja, then all obstacles and harm-doings shall be pacified. If we regularly or occasionally practice this, imbued with the pure motivation of compassion, we are guaranteed to reverse untimely death, be free from the threat of illnesses, family curses, and contamination; we will increase positive conditions, perfect our accumulations, and thus achieve immediate and ultimate benefits for self and others. Since there are so many more advantages it is not necessary to elaborate on them all. Just practice whole-heartedly with great diligence.”Lama Drimed instructed, “With this practice scheduled in the beginning of year 2010, I intend to prospect a new year with far reduced calamities and catastrophes produced either by human or by nature, also to diminish the outbreak of deadly pandemics. Jetsun Mipham Rinpoche is the wisdom emanation of Bodhisattva Manjushri. Having been inspired by Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, the deity of compassion, in his dream, this scripture truly came about as the unity of the compassion and wisdom, so powerful as to pacify and remove all obstacles for beings in the degenerate times. Please make time to attend the practice.” Time : Jan 24 Sunday, 2~4pm Dechen Rang Dharma Center
