| November 2008 | Teaching - Introducation of Nyingmapa LineageTibetan Buddhism, Chinese Buddhism, and Southern Buddhism are generally the three major vehicles of Buddhism if viewed by its geological development. Tibetan Buddhism is based mainly on the Mahayana Prajnaparamita scriptures and the esoteric Tantric teachings. It is also called Vajrayana Buddhism because the indestructible tantric discipline seamlessly cuts through the incorrect views of the non-Buddhist doctrines like a sharp diamond. Tibetan Buddhism comprises four distinct schools: Nyingma, Sakya, Kagyu, and Gelug. Nyingma means "old school". The scriptures of Tibetan Buddhism can generally be divided into two parts based on the period of translation. "Old translation" refers to those that were translated in and around Nalanda Monastery during the era when Indian Buddhism was at its peak. Nyingma lineage was formed based on scriptures that were translated during this time. Nyingma school was also called the red school because the monks often wear red hats during ritual practices.Time : Nov 9 Sunday, 2~5pm Dechen Rang Dharma Center |

Teaching - The Essence of Heart AdviceH.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche visited Wu-Tai Shan in 1987. Along with him he took many of his followers to pilgrim the holy mountains, also with intention to receive karmically connected disciples in China . Rinpoche had stayed in the Summit of Bodhisattva ever since his arrival, yet one afternoon he suddenly decided to move to Good-Wealth Cave without prior notice. Soon after his arrival at the cave, seven children came out of nowhere, sat down at his feet, and listened to his Dharma teachings with deepest respect. The seven children then vanished without a trace.Rinpoche went into strict retreat for twenty one days afterward. On the day of April twenty-ninth, he clearly visualized Manjushri Buddha, the primordial wisdom manifestation of all the Buddhas of the three times, body in golden color, wearing a five-Buddha crown, one face and two arms, holding a scripture pecha in his left hand and raising the wisdom sword in his right, sitting in the vajra posture, fully adorned with Sambhogakaya garment, abiding in a peaceful manner. Rinpoche was greatly pleased by the experience and his faith grew even more fervent. He thus aspired to vow in the face of Manjushri: shall help all the sentient beings who are trapped in the suffering of samsara and save them from the chain-lock of karmic delusion, thereby begetting unsurpassable happiness and ultimate realization. It was during this time that this wisdom teaching -- The Essence of Heart Advice - arose from within Rinpoche's awareness, and he had then written down later to pass down as the pith instructions for his followers.
